Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

The ubuntu-netbook edition is missing from the list of known meta-packages. This has the effect
that a upgrade will still work but installs ubuntu-desktop (in addition to upgrading ubuntu-netbook).

TEST CASE:
1. use karmic netbook edition
2. run update-manager
3. follow the steps until the final confirmation window
4 verify that in the details screen of the upgrade changes "ubuntu-desktop" gets installed
5. cancel

6. run "update-manager --proposed"
7. repeat 3
8. verify that this time "ubuntu-desktop" is not marked for install

This bug was fixed in the package update-manager - 1:0.140

---------------
update-manager (1:0.140) maverick; urgency=low

  * DistUpgrade/removal_blacklist.cfg:
    - remove gobuntu-desktop from the removal blacklist
  * DistUpgrade/DistUpgradeController.py:
    - start apport only, do not modify any conffile (all versions
      of apport we upgrade from support this now)
  * UpdateManager/UpdateManager.py:
    - fix crash when format string has the wrong number of arguments
      (LP: #569469)
    - fix minor UI resize issue (LP: #572228)
  * DistUpgrade/DistUpgrade.cfg:
    - add ubuntu-netbook (LP: #574279)
  * UpdateManager/Core/MetaRelease.py:
    - add looking for a "UpgradeBroken" tag that contains a reason string
      if the user should not be allowed to perform a release upgrade
  * UpdateManager/UpdateManager.py, do-release-upgrade:
    - honor "UpgradeBroken" flag and error in this case
  * updated to support lucid to maverick upgrades

Accepted update-manager into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

I have reproduced the problem with update-manager 1:0.134.8 and have verified that the version of update-manager in proposed, 1:0.134.9, fixes the issue. I do not see any regressions when performing upgrades or updating packages with the version of update-manager in -proposed.

Marking verification-done.

---------------
update-manager (1:0.134.9) lucid-proposed; urgency=low

  * DistUpgrade/DistUpgrade.cfg:
    - add ubuntu-netbook-remix and ubuntu-netbook to valid
      meta-packages to ensure clean transition for the rename
      of ubuntu-netbook-remix to ubuntu-netbook (LP: #574279)
  * DistUpgrade/DistUpgradeCache.py:
    - Check if the metapkg is actually upgradable. This covers
      the case of ubuntu-netbook-remix that may no longer be
      available to a user if "universe" is disabled (LP: #574279)
  * DistUpgrade/DistUpgradeQuirks.py:
    - Add workaround for nm-applet dying during the upgrade. At
      the start up of the update we take it down in a controlled
      way (LP: #456468)
    - add workaround for wine upgrade failure (LP: #571999)
    - help the upgrade if both ubuntu-desktop and xubuntu-desktop
      are installed (LP: #571743)
