Ken says he was looking at least to see if we can build with gcc-4.6 until chromium get updated

In Debian, chromium-browser DOES build with gcc-4.7. This patch may be helpful: http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-chromium/pkg-chromium.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/gcc4.7.patch;hb=HEAD.

Debian's package is a newer version, we really need someone to update the ubuntu version to the beta channel (which will be stable well before 12.10)

This bug was fixed in the package chromium-browser - 18.0.1025.168~r134367-0ubuntu2

---------------
chromium-browser (18.0.1025.168~r134367-0ubuntu2) quantal; urgency=low

  * debian/rules
    - force to build with gcc 4.6 to fix ftbfs (LP: #992212)
    - don't build with -Werror
  * debian/control
    - add build depends for g++-4.6-multilib
