Bug Description

== SRU INFORMATION ==

This issue has been fixed in a new upstream version in Debian unstable, pending autosync to Natty. A patch can be found at <http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~lfaraone/ubuntu/maverick/pianobar/v29/annotate/head%3A/debian/patches/v29.patch>

=== TEST CASE ===

Current behavior:
$ pianobar
Welcome to pianobar (2010.10.07)! Press ? for a list of commands.
(i) Login... Error: Protocol incompatible. Please upgrade libpiano.

Expected behavior:
$ pianobar
Welcome to pianobar (2010.10.07)! Press ? for a list of commands.
(i) Login... Ok.
(i) Get stations... Ok.

You may be prompted for a username and password, which is normal.

== Justification ==

Package Does Not Work at all, currently. Regression potential is minimal, since the package does not interact with user data, nor does it export public libraries.

== END SRU INFORMATION ==

Renders package unusable.

See a recent (oct 2010) bug: #655866 for a similar problem.

pianobar version: 2010.10.07-1
This version is in Maverick and Natty. This bug might also effect pithos.

Upstream is already fixed. Checkout from github works fine:

$ ./pianobar
Welcome to pianobar (2010.11.06-dev)! Press ? for a list of commands.
(i) Login... Ok.
(i) Get stations... Ok.

I uploaded a newer version of pianobar to Unstable a few moments ago. It should arrive in Natty in a few days.

Accepted pianobar into maverick-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

I've tested the proposed package following the test case, i was able to reproduce the issue with version 2010.10.07-1 and can confirm that the proposed version (2010.10.07-1ubuntu0.1) fixes the issue, marking this as verification done, thanks all.
