Bug Description

Binary package hint: aqualung

Hi,
On Lubuntu 10.04, when i use aqualung, it crashes 2 seconds after the begining of any song

But If i compile my self the same version of aqualung (R 1114) there is no more crash so i can't have debug trace

os lubuntu 10.04 (fresh install), kernel 2.6.32.22 generic (i686)

If you need more info, please feel free

Hope it could hep

SRU explanation:
1. Aqualung is currently useless if you use French locale, it crashes most of the time.
2. The bug was fixed by fixed a typo in translation.
3. Debdiff included
4. TEST CASE : Set French locale, start aqualung, add a file, start the song, see the crash.
5. No regression, it's a typo in French locale which cause the crash.

Hi, same remarque done by frenchy82
aqualung crashes after 2s of playing on a fresh install of lubuntu, xubuntu

aqualung's compilation (R1114) was successfull and now aqualung runs fine.

no bug trace to give you

As i see from sylv1pdt, "... SSE2 detected", could it be a problem with this package and the non sse2 processor

Can someone test with the package in my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~gilir/+archive/updates) and report if the bug is fixed ?
Also, this crash should happen only with French locale.

Julien,

With your package there is no more crash problem for me
Thanks!

Just one thing : When you extract a cd, you can't choose mp3 format for the destination. (libmp3lame0 is installed)
If you compile aqualung with libmp3lame-dev installed it works.
Should i need to open an other bug report?

hi Julien,

a bug certainly similar is doing the rounds on the 'freinds on Aqualung'
mailing list, they are aware of it & working on it, there seems no way for
me to link this 'official' bug to their mailing list on the matter.

I will forward you the emails on the thread they are discussing, it may be
of help.

Regards,

Phill.
