Let me know if it works better. If it does not, please include the output of simple scan by running it from the command line, e.g.

$ simple-scan --debug >simple-scan.log

This one remains the same. I attached a log as requested. I will need to leave this machine for a few hours; will try to be back ASAP.

It would be helpful if you can followup there. Thanks for your feedback

Boricua, the log indicates you were using simple-scan 1.0.2. Can you confirm this behaviour occurs in simple-scan 1.0.3?

This appears to be bug 564106. The upstream bug indicates it could be reproduced in simple-scan 1.0.3 but the attached log shows the test was done in 1.0.2.

Yes, it remains the same after the upgrade. simple-scan 1.0.3 did fix bug 586350, which I also reported. I tried 1.0.3 and it saved the scanned document in the same huge size of 34.89 × 58.31 inches. Just let me know if you need further info.

Could you attach the output of simple-scan -d in 1.0.3 and attach a scanned document with the size problem?

The problem still exists in Simple Scan 2.32.0 (maverick). The values for height/width seem to be stored correctly in ~/.gconf/apps/simple-scan/%gconf.xml but this has no effect on the paper size of the output file.

This is about the PDF meta data, right?
If so, this might be related to the following bugs and one should look at the code setting the PDF metadata:

PDF metadata: Date of creation and modification is incorrectly set (or not set at all)
Ubuntu “simple-scan” package Bugs Bug #789762

Document title set to /tmp/simple-scan-XX.pdf instead of saved file name

this is not auto-expired for some reason, even though the information if it is about pdf metadata is still missing.
there are aforementioned bugs about pdf metadata and there is
"Simple Scan's "Page Size" has no effect Simple Scan Bugs Bug #611036"
about page sizes. I will close this until there is indication that this is something different.

Changed in simple-scan:

Changed in fedora:
