I guess very important an officialy stable wine release (1.0.1) in lucid, please don't remove it.

Bye

It hasn't been removed. You may still have the karmic wine ppa enabled, which is where that change is.

This is the current package in lucid:

Please look at this.

I installed lucid-alpa3 with wine, the default (and only version) in the repository is 1.1.39.

Maybe I am in misunderstunding ?

Oh right, I did do that and forgot.

I'm still planning on having a stable wine 1.2 actually release in Lucid's timeframe though. As it stands users are much better off trying the unstable version before the stable one. I'll reevaluate the situation around beta 2 if that doesn't seem like it's happening - users upgrading from Karmic/1.0.1 shouldn't have anything break.

This will require a single rebuild after the RC CD images are spun (and the 1.1.42-0ubuntu3 wine1.2 package is thus built)

So why is wine still a dummy package for wine1.2: http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/wine
Or is that page outdated?

I'm still working on it, there are issues with package versions and the archive requirements.
