Binary package hint: nicotine

Occurring in Karmic RC. Nicotine fails to initialize the GeoIP library and doesn't start:

Had the same problem here with Nicotine under Karmic.
Problems were solved after installing geoip-database package:

- sudo apt-get install geoip-database

thanks for your report, I think this fix needs to go into Karmic, moving this into an SRU request.

I had geoip-database installed on my system already, so nicotine was working fine. Removing that package makes it failing to startup, gonna upload the package to karmic-proposed in a few and then you guys should be able to give it a try. Thanks again.

  * debian/control:
    - added a depends on geoip-database preventing nicotine
      to fail at startup. SRU into karmic-proposed already.
