Bug Description

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

Hi

Software-store has been added recently and doesn't show up by default in the menus; Ivanka proposes having it as a toplevel icon just like the toplevel application Categories menus we have.

I think we need a specific hack for this but I have no idea

Thanks

I don't see where it could reasonably go in the UNR menus, except for System > Administration. Anywhere else would involve it having a category or section all to itself, which would be inappropriate.

I think that for this release it will have to be in System > Administration.

I do think that in the next release it should be put at a much higher level and I see no reason why it shouldn't be considered for top level navigation. It is, after all, one of the major advantages of running such a wonderful open source OS on your netbook! It is a feature and not a chore.

If we're talking next releasey stuff, maybe in the next release software store could be embedded into unr, so that it runs within it, rather than launches as a separate application.

Okay, so if for Karmic it's meant to be in System->Admin, then the launcher already does that (verified on a daily image), so I think I can mark it as Fix Released in upstream.

This bug was fixed in the package liblauncher - 0.1.8-0ubuntu1

---------------
liblauncher (0.1.8-0ubuntu1) karmic; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
    - Fixes software-store entry not showing up; LP: #433386.
  * Wrap build-deps and deps to get cleaner diffs.
  * Bump up Standards-Version to 3.8.3; no change needed.
  * Enhance short descriptions slightly.
  * Add shlibs:Depends and misc:Depends to liblauncher-dev.
  * Build-dep on libglib2.0-dev.
  * Let liblauncher-dev dep on libglib2.0-dev, libgtk2.0-dev, libwnck-dev,
    libgnome-menu-dev as their .pcs are referenced in launcher.pc.
  * rules: add .PHONY and use $@ in clean:.
  * debian/synbols: use 0.1.7~ in versions instead of 0.1.7-0ubuntu1.
  * Use dh_prep instead of dh_clean -k.

Not sure why you remove the milestone; it was done in beta :-)
