Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 just 2 days ago. When composing a new mail message, trying to drag a file into the attachment field doesn't work.

cannot find anything upstream related to it (previous ones were fixed a long time ago), filed a new one there, you can track it here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=554450 ; thanks for reporting.

Actually, it's more serious. I can confirm that dropping to attachments area doesn't work at all. And dropping to message body works only for SOME files. I can drop text and SVG files, but cannot drop JPG, DOC, ODS. It seems that binary files can't be attrached using drag'n'drop.

Please increase importance. It's a regression.

I can confirm that too. As said before its a new bug in 8.10 because it worked fine before the upgrade.
For me drag and drop works if I drag it to the body, also for doc, ods and so on, so I guess it works for all file types, but I can't confirm that for sure.

this was fixed upstream, the commit is : http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/evolution?view=revision&sortby=date&revision=36742 , it'd go into an sru process if there's another evolution update also, thanks.
