Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

My thunderbird was updated with the package updater this morning. Imediately after the fresh install, Thunderbird began doing this.

Upon the email editor frame closing, the entire application closes.

This happens both when sending an email or when choosing not to.

When sending an email, the status dialog pops up like it should, and closes like it should.

The email does get sent, and is added to the sent folder.

As soon as the email editor frame is closed, the entire Thunderbird Application closes.

The application should remain open, while only closing the editor window.

The following are the messages recieved when running thunderbird from the command prompt in tcsh:

> mozilla-thunderbird

Yes, I've had extensions, but I wasn't using any at the time that I sent
the messages. In fact, I didn't even have to send a message for the
application to close.

I have installed the newest Thunderbird right from Mozilla (version
2.0.0.12) and it works fine so far. All extensions appear to still be
intact.

I still have the old one installed, perhaps I'll give safe mode a try
and let you know what happens later today.

Am I the only person who's experienced this problem?

James

i could not reproduce the crash, but i observe some memory access issues on shutdown. I assume that this causes more severe issues for you.

We will roll an update asap.
