Binary package hint: nautilus

If I open a huge amount of selected media files in nautilus, the program is started many, many times but I intended to open the files in a playlist. Perhaps there must just an other open-method be configured for mediaplayers. Or nautilus should produce a warning, if opening more then 10 files at once.

the title mention vlc, it's likely it doesn't use the correctly .desktop parameters

I have found the easiest way to achieve this is to use nautlius-actions

sudo apt-get install nautilus-actions
nautilus-actions-config
then configure to taste for example:

Label: Add to Playlist
Icon: gtk-add
Path: totem
Parameters: --enqueue %M
Filenames: *.mp3 ;
Appears if selection has mutiple files or folders: true

This adds an Add to Playlist option when a mp3 or selection of mp3's are right clicked. Selecting the option will add the selected mp3's to totems playlist.
