Binary package hint: kvm

  * Divert kernel modules when installing the kvm-source modules
    (Closes: #429851)
  * kvm-ifup, even if bridge command failed continue to work, this will allow
    users who have no bridge setup and intend to setup some other method to
    get it to work without messing with the package files. (Closes: #407459)

kvm (28-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * We moved a file from kvm-source to kvm, to be able to properly upgrade we
    specify a conflict against older versions (Closes: #417652)
  * Fix kvm-ifup script to work in more conditions (Closes: #417151)
  * Remove old /etc/udev/kvm.rules since it's not needed (Closes: #414331)

  * kqemu is no longer in non-free (Closes: #419152)

kvm (18-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (Closes: #416926)
  * Move the module-assistant script to the kvm package from kvm-source so all
    users will benefit from the integration (Closes: #416122)

Remaining Ubuntu changes:
  * DebianMaintainerField spec
  * Mention that the kvm-source package is unneeded on Ubuntu
  * Add epoch

Since the Ubuntu package had a higher version number (due to the epoch) than the Debian source, I've had to merge it manually. Compared to the kvm-16ubuntu2 package, the dropped differences are:
  * Removed if'd out code from debian/rules
  * Dropped dh_installudev from debian/rules. See Debian bug #414331

Erm. The patch looks clean, compiles successfully, and the resulting package works for me, but a new kernel was just uploaded (-7-), and I'm concerned enough about the reversion of 18-1ubuntu1 in feisty that I think the package should be retested against the new kernel before being uploaded.

I've now successfully tested against linux-image-2.6.22-7-generic (2.6.22-7.14) on amd64.
