Piseth KHENG (Cambodian, 1983) is currently the program manager of the KhmerOS Initiative, a project started in 2004 aimed at reducing the Digital divide in Cambodia by producing and distributing free computer software in Khmer language. The project is hosted by the Open Institute; a local NGO based in Phnom Penh city that envisions Cambodia is a country in which widespread access to high quality education, information, communication, and technology lead to a more developed and just society. As part of this work he is in charge of project planning, guarding the project plan and ensuring that all activities take place as planned. He also coordinates all localization, training activities and develop training materials performed by the KhmerOS. He is also strongly working on the ICT curriculum development for the Ministry of Education for high school students and teacher training institutions.
