I'm currently a technician at a small computer/IT Shop in south eastern PA. As one of my project I was to create a FOSS system just to see what it was all about and whether we could deploy it. I of course already knew it's worth as I use OOo, Blender, Gimp, Audacity, Inkscape, Scribus, VLC, etc... at home. I had not used Ubuntu before... Now I do as much of my work as possible on the "experimental" Ubuntu box... I find it more reliable and an all around pleasant experience that facilitates learning and productivity more than any OS I have used. I'm joining the movement to spread Ubuntu because of the current misunderstanding of Linux and lack of ability of people to think outside the Microsoft box. I see Ubuntu and Linux as more than a Novelty... And it should not be looked down on because it is free or Open source.... I don't think I'm getting across, what I want to... It like this... We have a problem and I see the solution is Linux... As of now, no one has taken me seriously enough to implement a Linux solution... I want solutions to be judged on their ease and their quality... I'm sick of doing things just because it is Microsoft and I think the world will be better off when we have that choice again. and I don't think the issue is technology but peoples perspectives.
