ALSA snd-hda module DKMS PPA
PPA description
A DKMS backport of the latest ALSA High Definition Audio snd-hda-* kernel modules to the Ubuntu Lucid 2.6.32-* kernel.
This package should support some newer High Definition Audio hardware not supported by the older ALSA snd-hda-* modules found in Ubuntu Lucid 10.04. This includes some HDMI audio devices on newer NVidia and ATI GPUs, along with newer Intel chipsets.
Once this package is installed, DKMS should automatically build and install these modules every time a new kernel is installed.

This is just a quick hack to get these newer modules to load under Lucid, YMMV. For a better supported bleeding edge ALSA module collection, try:

Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:joemullally/backport-alsa-hda-dkms to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:joemullally/backport-alsa-hda-dkms
sudo apt update
