GCC 3 Legacy Toolchains
PPA description
GCC 3.4.6 binary packages for GCC 4 multilib hosts. Good for building legacy toolchains and cross compilers on modern 64-bit workstations.
The system compilers in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, gcc-4.4 and gcc-4.8, can bootstrap this gcc-3.4.6 source package.
Note that the source package has some non-trivial retooling and suffers slightly reduced regression test conformance.
