To install the Xenial series of the kernel on MAAS deployed system you need to remove flash-kernel.

$ sudo apt remove --purge flash-kernel
$ sudo add-apt-repository -y -u ppa:centriq-team/lp1732804
$ sudo apt install linux-image-4.13.0-17-generic linux-image-extra-4.13.0-17-generic
