I am long time member and current president of Raleigh Perl Mongers (http://raleigh.pm.org/).

I am new to Ubuntu, but have been using Unix/Linux for about a dozen (12) years. My background is more heavily RedHat influenced -- need to get more confortable with debian-based distributions. I enjoy working with various GNU/FLOSS tools and connecting them together in the shell or in a perl script.

I am currently exploring memcached (http://www.danga.com/memcached/) and using it for data caching across multiple machines.
