zlib-ng for Ubuntu
PPA description
zlib-ng for Ubuntu, replacing system's zlib.
Installing zlib packages from this PPA will replace zlib with zlib-ng: https:/
A lot of programs use system's zlib library. Installing this is the easiest way to give the system a nice speed boost.
Add the following to /etc/apt/
# cat /etc/apt/
Package: *
Pin: release o=LP-PPA-
Pin-Priority: 1000
# cat /etc/apt/
Unattended-
Install (upgrade) the zlib1g package:
# apt install zlib1g
You may encounter warnings on packages being downgraded. This can be safely ignored.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:arter97/zlib-ng to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:arter97/zlib-ng
sudo apt update
