I am a software developer and networking consultant working for a small government contractor in Falls Church, VA. I'm currently living in the District of Columbia. My interests, dating back to my time majoring at Western Michigan University in Computer Science, have been in open source software. I've converted my home network to Ubuntu systems using NFS for networking. I have an Ubuntu server at home for various home projects and software tinkering. I use Ubuntu servers on-site at small to midsize commercial client offices as a royalty free way of remotely accessing and administrating their business networks through SSH and VNC. I am also considering expanding the roles of those boxes to handle network traffic monitoring along with imaging and data backup. I have a strong interest in contributing code and/or pushing and integrating more Ubuntu and open source software into the residential and commercial markets.
