Thus, ~nodither is going to prevail, unless ubuntu3 without "~" is released (which will supercede the "~" AFAIK). You should manually choose the right version in Synaptic (Package->Specify version...)
2 Martin, my card is listed in the bug description and further comments. For the record, it is
ATI Technologies Inc M76 [Radeon Mobility HD 2600 Series]
(ChipID = 0x9581)
This is certainly not a regression (at least on my hardware), since I could not even start Xorg with the previous driver version, as described in the first post as well. But I agree, that the update needs broader testing. Shall I revert "verification-done" to "verification-needed"?
