Hi. While waiting for the fix, just a quick heads up:
I have the same onboard AMD RS690 as Артём Попов. I've been having issues with:
- Ubuntu Alpha 5 (I think) livecd - black screen at X start, I gave up then to wait for the beta
- Ubuntu Beta x86 livecd - same thing
- Kubuntu Beta x86 and x64 - could boot into it, but no text (I then figured out it was the huge fonts, actually)
- Kubuntu x64 alternate - could install, but after login I got to splash screen, which was then covered by portions of huge letters.
I tried getting the latest updates from console, an I did get some ati and radeon drivers among them. After that, I got to the LiveCD situation: I reached KDE desktop, but saw no text and it seemed to freeze when clicking anything.
I finally made it work by using the radeonhd drivers, as suggested, but they seem a bit sluggish.
Sorry for the long message. I hope it helps. Please let me know if you need any details.
