I don't know what all that stuff you were referring to above regarding adding packages, etc. has to do with getting Xsensors to work but all things being equal, if you have a stock installation of Jaunty and you install Xsensors from Synaptic and then afterwards go to the terminal and run the following command, sudo sensors-detect and then answer all of the questions either YES or hit the ENTER key when prompted and then after the last question is answered do a restart of your computer then Xsensors SHOULD work from the applications/system tools menu.
