In a Focal virtual machine with Pro unattached, installed version .20 of update-manager from proposed, opened update-manager and verified that Midnight Commander in the Pro section shows

  Available version: 3:4.8.24-2ubuntu1+esm1

which is the correct version according to ua security-status --format=json.
