The Files IX spec mentions that there should be a "Browse This Folder"-button on the far right in the path-bar when you are in folder browsing mod. Clicking that would open Nautilus on the right folder.

This would at least somewhat mitigate this problem, and should maybe be small enough in scope for ui/feature freeze break exception to be granted..?
