This attachment is a copy/paste from /var/log/syslog. It starts when dhclient (run by hand) suceeds in rebinding the IP address.
I killed my hand-run dhclient (using "sudo killall dhclient").
I then right clicked on nm-applet's notification area icon and enabled networking.
Eventually it gives up after losing its connection a few times.
I then ran 'sudo dhclient eth0' from the command line and ended the log there.
