the managed= thing is ok nobody will understand the well_known_devices better anyway. could you open a new bug for the startup race ... so we can track that down independently from this triaged thing now.
I would be open to allow more values (not just true/false). but i fail to see the user case. if you have one we should open a third bug for that feature request too. Thanks!
