It works when entering VPN password by hand indeed, but I think this bug is focused around the connection failure, after the password has been saved to the keyring.
I have a pretty complex VPN password, that I don't want to memorize and I have to manually copy-and-paste it from a plain text file. A very annoying issue, although everything worked flawlessy until around mid-october Intrepid updates...
