just tested this again on Lucid Beta 2 with all updates and it does work with compiz as with metacity.

There shows a different issue though:
When pressing Alt+Tab the switching order is from right to left, adding Shift reverses it - but when
you start out with Alt+Shift+Tab the order is also from right to left, releasing Shift also reverses that.
