Same issue for me on a clean install of Gutsy RC after installing the nvidia nonfree driver (which automatically enabled Compiz).

I'm hooked on Alt+Tab and Alt+Shift+Tab, so it would be great for this to work for the Gutsy release.

Obviously the workaround is to disable Compiz visual effects.
