In my case doesn't work.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and I have an Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02).

If I put options iwlcore led_mode=1 on and then I re-initiate the driver it doesn't work and dmesg give me this error:
iwlcore: Unknown parameter `led_mode'
