I'm not sure, but i have this drive WD740ADFD, ubuntu hardy heron with the 2.6.24-16 kernel and i can't enable 32 bit transfer, its stuck on the low performance 16 bit.
$hdaparm /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
 IO_support = 0 (default)
16-bit)
 HDIO_GET_UNMASKINTR failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
 HDIO_GET_DMA failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
 HDIO_GET_KEEPSETTINGS failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device

Is this the same bug? should i file another one?
