Have the same problem. No sound after waking up from hibernation (booting up Ubuntu). Attached uname, lspci -vv, lspci -vvn and dmidecode.

Loging out and Login in solves the problem. Sound is back on. Didn't try restarting via rc Scripts as this can brake Gnome mixer someone mentioned above. If this is all wrong, sorry, I'm new to Ubuntu.
