I have the same problem. Same errors. It seems to go away when I remove the backports-modules package. When I googled, it saw that Ubuntu isn't the only distribution that has this problem. A fix was sent upstream, and is present in the latest compat-wireless.

I will try to build the new compat-wireless and see if it fixes things when I have some spare time.
