I also have a D430, and for me this only happens if I detach AC power while the computer is suspended (which is tracked in bug 425411). Is that the case for you as well?
If not, please do
killall gnome-power-manager gnome-power-manager --verbose > /tmp/gpm.log 2>&1
then reproduce the problem (close/open lid), then ^C and attach /tmp/gpm.log. Thanks!
