The crash is reproducible on x86_64 too, with:

$java -version
java version "1.6.0_0"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.6) (fedora-33.b16.fc12-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode)

There's one trick there - don't use proprietary java VM from sun, it seems to crash with the OpenJDK only.
