Thanks for conjecture, but if this was caused by Xubuntu 10.04, why is it present in all distributions using Xfce? For example, Xfce now refers those experiencing this to http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/18904 . That would seem to make this much more than an Xubuntu bug.
