The simple answer is to use icon view or compact view to navigate to the desired folder, then a simple Ctrl+2 will show you the detailed view. Another very easy Ctrl+1 or Ctrl+3 puts you back in icon view or compact view to navigate again. That adds four keystrokes, if I count both Ctrl and the number you hit. That does not really make it a showstopper.
