sorry, I forgot to mention, that the system worked with Karmic and Jaunty, the sound card. So I would assume that the standard SW with lucid should work too.

As there are several other bugs with Lucid I guess something with the hardware detection is wrong for my system. Especially the Bug 579028 is hardware related as well.

By the way starting with the Lucid live CD doesn't change the problems

I'll try fiddling around with the drivers you mentioned above.
