Curtis and I agree that we think the bug is in the template (i.e. it's just a display bug):
<sinzui> barry: I think your guess that the template/view is wrong is correct. The view is returning all email addresses, and guarantees that the first one is a preferred. The team-index template should only get the first address--do not loop over it
