Chickadee AM is a computer systems and networks inventory and control tool. It will keep track of such things as a system's name, serial number, operating system version, running services, and the MAC and IP addresses of installed network interfaces.
Initially the project will aim to replace my spreadsheets of basic system information. In the future it may go as far as generating Nagios config files based on the information stored and integrating with Puppet to push out changes. For early releases, I will not be making any attempt to maintain backwards compatibility, as flexibility to get the architecture right will be more important.
There's really nothing to see here yet - I'm just starting to put the pieces together to start writing.
