Bug Description

SRU Justification

Impact: The release schedule / process for alsa-project.org is similar to the Ubuntu development process. Patches are applied to a single repository which is periodically submitted for inclusion in the upstream linux kernel as well as provided as a standalone package for users that wish to have the latest bug fixes and hardware enablement for their system.

http://alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Changes_v1.0.22_v1.0.23

Test Case: It is difficult to know exactly how much testing this recieves though most if not all of the changes in this release have gone upstream for inclusion in the main linux kernel.

Hi Brad,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 585921

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

You know when you've been Jeremy'd. :D Ok, this is actually targeted for the backports-modules, so I fixed up the package. And its committed, too. Just needed a bug to track its SRU. Subscribing the SRU team for that, next.

Accepted linux-backports-modules-2.6.32 into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!
