I can confirm this on a Dell Studio 1555. I have tried with "acpi=force noapic" (to fix Karmic's troubles with this laptop) just "noapic" and neither of those.

Everything else ACPI-related (fans, thermal sensors, backlight keys) seems to work OK before suspending. When starting up from suspend-to-RAM, I get only a black screen (that is: turned off, not "lit with a fullscreen image of "black"", which is greyer).

Suspending to both disk and RAM worked fine in Karmic (with noapic, at least).

It will now resume, but still generates kernel errors.

Hi Mike,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
