Variation and chaos trees behave incorrectly when changing selection

Bug Description
On windows, the enter key isn't recognized properly while editing a value in a tree. The result of this is that you get stuck while changing a value and can only end editing by clicking on a different item with the mouse.
Right now, a kludgy workaround is in place, where an extra tree is created for each affected panel (and not put into any sizer).
