Bug Description

since xulrunner 1.9.1 pyxpcom isn't shipped upstream anymore. they start to do a proper standalone-upstream project on that, but until that is available as a package we need to remove consumers of it from the archive.

AFAICS, the split happened in 1.9.2, not in 1.9.1:

I know several distros that are shipping pyxpcom with xulrunner 1.9.1

And we have python-xpcom in universe as well. Why is it not sufficient to revert the Ubuntu change to depend on xulrunner-1.9 instead of python-xpcom?

(Note that sugar-hulahop is in Debian, and this seems like a dubious reason for blacklisting the package, so I'd like to know what the plan is for lucid before removing.)

Package python-xpcom version 1.8.1.16+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 has an unmet dep:
 Depends: python (< 2.6)

Switching to python-xpcom wouldn't help. We really need to remove the old, unpatched xulrunner (1.8).
