Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

With network-manager 0.8~a~git.20091013t193206.679d548-0ubuntu1, I now get the following configuration:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1d:09:XX:XX:XX
          inet6 addr: xx:xx::xx/64 Scope:Global
          inet6 addr: fe80::xxxx:xxxx/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:249 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:55 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:29480 (29.4 KB) TX bytes:7228 (7.2 KB)
          Interrupt:17

wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1d:e0:XX:XX:XX
          inet addr:192.168.1.97 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::xxxx:xxxx/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:4621 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:4493 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:3455004 (3.4 MB) TX bytes:1372416 (1.3 MB)

and the dhcp server never sees a request for an eth0 address.

lspci shows:
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX (rev 02)
0c:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61)

manually configuring the interface works just fine.
