Openoffice gives me errors when I try to save NAS fileserver

Bug Description

When I try saving to my Network Attached Storage (NAS) all openoffice programs give me an i/o error. I have already try changing a config file which I think had something to do with file locking. This is ridiculous, I need this work! I have tried saving files with other programs like gimp to my NAS and it works fine. Help would be greatly appreciated!

I running Ubuntu 8.10 and OpenOffice 2.4.1

Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ?
