Bug Description

Hugin 0.7.0 on Hardy up to date
I upgraded Hugin 1 month ago as a request for testing a bug correction :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/223239

As written in this bug, it worked perfectly and I could create some panos. But now, it's impossible, I always get an "Error 1" :
nona -z PACKBITS -r ldr -m TIFF_m -o img_5190-img_5191 -i 0 /tmp/huginpto_ZAPYeG
nona -z PACKBITS -r ldr -m TIFF_m -o img_5190-img_5191 -i 1 /tmp/huginpto_ZAPYeG
false --compression NONE -f5112x2901 -o img_5190-img_5191.tif img_5190-img_51910000.tif img_5190-img_51910001.tif
make: *** [img_5190-img_5191.tif] Erreur 1

I reinstalled hugin (3 packages) but I still get the same problem.

Where may this bug come from ? A Hardy update in libraries ? Any idea ?

Thanks for any help !

Denis

Some tests later ...
I installed Ibex on a separate partition and added Hugin (0.7.0) : same problem
But as I use the same /home, I searched for a Hugin config file and delete a .hugin file, then tried a new pano : OK ! No more "Error 1" !

So it seems that .hugin file is part of the problem. May be a version problem between the previous one (Hardy standard) and the 0.7.0 one ?

I exited hugin and restarted it with the .pto previously saved : OK, pano created.

This is a bug of the hardy backport I made.
Intrepid and Jaunty are ate level 0.7.0-1 and the backport is still at level 0.7.0.
I have to backport 0.7.0-1 version also.
A way t ofix this problem is to change some configuration and same it to fix the default config file. This has been fixed in 0.7.0-1.
Il backport it ASAP to Hardy.

I think that I did not installed hugin from backports on Intrepid :
version 0.7.0~svn3191+beta5~1ubuntu1 for the 3 packages

Your ppa repository does not appear in my Synaptic and backports are not activated.

Should I change something ?

Hi,
If you are using Intrepid, you can use my ppa to install the latest version of Hugin, which fix this bug.
You can find it at https://launchpad.net/~fabricesp/+archive
This version is the one that will be in Jaunty.

If it works for intrepid, I will request a backport, to make more 'official' the version in my ppa.
Thanks.

It works with 0.7.0.1 version from your repository (on Intrepid).

For Hugin itself, my two main concerns :
- Hugin does not remember the current directory (used for the previous pano), until we leave Hugin and restart it.
- Hugin does not propose any more a name for the file to create, as it was previously done : file1-file3 for example, as well as it does not propose anymore the list of files in the directory when we enter a first letter.

But it works well and that's the most important ! ;-)

Thank you for your help and work ,

Denis
