Duplicate entries show up when using the KDE4 application launcher search

Bug Description
If you search for applications from the KDE4 application launcher, sometimes .desktop files are shown besides the actual applications. For example, if you type "firefox" into the search field, you get two results: one for the application (with the correct icon) and one for the corresponding .desktop entry (with a standard icon). Clearly, the second one is superfluous and shouldn't be displayed. See the attached screenshot.
