Dead link in Programming section

I've discovered that it linked to a file, which can be opened manually in the path specified (file:///usr/share/doc/diveintopython/html/toc/index.html). Is it just me that could not open the file?

Weirdly I can't open the file when it's linked from the webpage, but if I copy and paste the URL it works fine.

Perhaps the new firefox stops file:/// URIs from non-local webpages.

There is a Help page related to this web page.
This Help page has broken links in it too, the same links.

I found this Help page in Kubuntu, but there may be similar pages elsewhere.

(I don't know the full URL ; I had to read that from a printout,
which didn't list the whole URL, it used ellipsis, "...". )

Attached is the patch for the fix.

The current link is directed at a file currently installed by default into everybody's Ubuntu system. It's a .pdf, not the actual site for the book.

So what about the one on https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/programming/C/ar01s01.html ?

It seems that remote links to local files are not permitted for security reasons in Firefox / Mozilla browsers. We can amend the links to point at the online versions of the documents. I've committed a fix for that to our repository, although it won't be transferred to help.u.c until the next time that site is rebuilt.
